Tips for Getting Painting Estimates and Quotes

As a painting company we want to produce the most accurate estimates we can for our customers. Here are a few things you can do to help make that possible. First, try and communicate the scope of work as clearly as you can. It’s ok if you are not 100% sure about what you want painted, but if you are, clearly state it. This will make writing up an accurate estimate much easier. Second, if you have already selected the colors you want applied please let us know! If you haven’t selected colors don’t worry, we can do a color consultation with you when we come to do the estimate!  Depending on the job it might be helpful to know what paint or stain was applied the last time your house was painted. Having the old colors on file or even the old paint cans can help us determine what products are going to be best suited to your new paint job. Finally, make sure when getting multiple estimates that each one is comparable if you are weighing them on price. If there are notable price differences between estimates you receive, ask yourself if the work outlined by the estimates is more or less equivalent or if one of the companies is going to do a more thorough job than the other. Then ask yourself what best fits your needs. Finally, all other things being equal, try to work with someone you feel you can get along with. This is good advice for anyone hiring a contractor weather you’re in Eugene, OR, the Willamette Valley, or anywhere else in Oregon or the world!
